Since your wife is refusing a mutual divorce and demanding extra money beyond the agreed 14 lacs, you can contest the maintenance case based on your financial capacity and past payments. If you already paid 8 lakhs, keep all proofs with you. You can file for contested divorce citing cruelty. You can also consider changing your advocate if you are not getting proper updates. File a petition to reduce or dismiss maintenance under the section 125 of CrPC. If she is capable of earning or already has support, immediatly consult a lawyer for better support.

File for contested divorce citing cruelty/extortion. Submit proof of ₹8L paid. Change lawyer, seek court mediation, and contest false maintenance if she's earning. Oppose extra demand. Attend maintenance case, seek reduction. Court decides fairly based on income.

Based on your situation, since you've already paid ₹8 lakhs and she is now demanding ₹15 lakhs more, you can contest the excessive demand in court. File a response in the maintenance case under Section 125 CrPC, stating your financial capacity and previous payments. If your wife is unwilling for mutual divorce, you may proceed with a contested divorce under cruelty or desertion grounds. Also, change your current advocate if he is inactive—an effective and dedicated lawyer is essential. File RTIs or applications to get updates if your lawyer is not informing you. Don't lose hope—many cases see resolution with persistence and legal guidance.
