Demanding money in exchange for signing the divorce agreement.

My ex-husband (we have applied for divorce) is asking me to pay him and only then he will sign the divorce papers. I don't want to pay him. What can I do in this?

Well, if you do not want to pay anything to your Husband to seek Mutual Divorce with his cooperation, then apply for a Unilateral Divorce based on certain legal grounds available under the concerned sections of the Marriage Act, in which you have got married.

The details given by you are incomplete. Need more information like what stage is the matter and what is the financial status of both of you. Why is the husband asking more ? For mutual consent divorce or otherwise. Feel free to call
