Cost of advocate for filing mutual consent divorce

Me and my wife we have mutually agreed to file divorce. What will be cost of legal fees for divorce in such case.

In a mutual consent divorce, both parties jointly file a petition after settling all issues such as alimony, child custody, and property. The process is straightforward and usually completed in two motions before the family court within six months.

It depends on the Lawyer. Basically it starts from Rs. 20,000. Mutual consent divorce will get completed in 2 dates. First date counselling is done and after that immediately 6 months,date is given. Finally after that Divorce is granted.

First of all make it clear, that in which court's Jurisdiction you want to file case for divorce by mutual consent. Procedure is similar so will suggest you to appoint Advocate from your town only. Here Advocates from different towns will let before you different fees. So be wise.

Pre condition for filing a mutual consent divorce petition is that firstly both the parties should be ready for mutual consent. Secondly the separation period should be more than one year. Both the parties should agree on the terms and conditions mutually. After filing of the mutual considered petition counselling will be conducted and thereafter the order will be passed. It takes normally 6 month period after filing of petition.

It would be better if you directly have a meeting, and can talk accordingly about the fees and procedures, as mutual consent divorce is not a lengthy and a long procedure and doesn’t includes too many dates, hence if you are okay for having a meeting consult an advocate directly
