Compensation of wedding expenses post divorce

Need to know, wife had applied for divorce.and she is asking for compensation of marriage expenses.marriage had taken place 8 months ago.she wanted to divorce.is it need to pay compensation.we are Hindus.
It depends and moreover by going through divorce petition and all documents only I can say on the compensation.

It both of you are Hindu by religion, you are governed by the provisions of Hindu Marriage Act. There is no such provision for the compensation of marriage.however if your wife is not working/earning she may claim for the maintenance of her own.
