Clarity on Monthly maintainence to husband

My husband is a serial entrepreneur and got good money after selling his shares in previous startup. That money has been invested in properties, Mutual funds etc in his name only. Right now he is not earning monthly from any job and gets interest monthly from his investments. He says that I have to pay him monthly maintainence in case i divorce him as I am working and he is not working and has no monthly salary. We have 7 yr kid and mostly all i pay for everything in house,school. Please advise
in Indian situation it is very rare that a working/ earning wife is asked/required by Law to pay maintenance to husband. Anyway, if you are planning to file a case of divorce against your husband, you better collect details and evidence of where is Investment are. if your plan well you can even get order against him for maintenance and expenses of your child.

in Hindu marriage act there is a provision for claiming maintenance from wife. But for that he needs to prove his inability to wiand earn for himself like disease, lack of assets etc. it is very difficult for a healthy husband and almost impossible for him to succeed. Take the help of a good lawyer and some times offense is the best defence, by asking contribution for the maintenance and education of the child which is his primary dutt
