if the properties stand in your name, your wife can make a claim for handsome amount of alimony and other reliefs available under domestic violence. As u told they are on parents name. she cannot claim anything. However, as the marriage has not remained for 1 year, you have to take certain steps to come out of relationship.

Hi
Any divorce will result in grant of alimony or attachment of properties standing in the name of the husband in lieu of maintenance.
There are several ways to protect the property like father disowning the son through issue of separation notice in news papers, transferring properties in the name of mother etc.
for us to provide correct advise, we should know the following
a) nature of properties (ancestral or self acquired) and
b) Reasons for filing of divorce and
c) income details of your wife, academic and professional back ground of your wife if any.
Hope this helps.

HI,
1) you can protect your property by way will, gift or wish if it is self acquired by you.
in those circumstances also your wife can claim her share from you. it is your responsibility towards your wife.
2) yes she can claim property under DOMESTIC VOILANCE ACT, and other provisions of the acts.
under DVC act she can claim residential order in the property in which her in-laws lives.
so it is better for you to settle the matter with your wife and get divorce by mutual consent.

Hi
She can't the property which is on your fathers name if it is your fathers self acquired property. Any way when u are planing to go for divorce, both of you can enter into a memorandum of understanding in which you can draft all the terms and conditions so that no problems arise in future.
