Can I retrieve luggage from my husband’s home

20-Mar-2025 (In Divorce Law)
Me and my husband are not living together from 6 months and so many issues has been happening in families. Keeping my husband’s behaviour and my in laws behaviour in mind I want retrieve my luggage from husband’s home immediately with police protection because we fear there could be verbal and physical abuse from their side if we don’t go with protection. Is it possible? And please suggest the ways possible as bringing back my luggage is very important to me.

If you are not residing with your in-laws, you need to keep your belongings with them. you are entitled for custody of your goods. hence you can retrieve the things that belong to you from your in-laws house. firstly you should send a delegation with your demand to return your goods to your custody. If they do not come forward, then you have to issue a notice through an advocate with a detailed list of your articles and ask your in-laws to handover the same under a proper acknowledgement.
