Can I get a Divorce based on Verbal abuse and mental/Physical torture.


25-Mar-2024 (In Divorce Law)
I was legally married in 2020 then we started staying together in different city due to job. First few months was okay until his parents visited us, that's when all issue started. Verbal abuse day by day and he use to say he is joking but clearly not, he acted whatever his mom use to suggest. Later 2021 we got socially married and then big issue started. His mom use to say many things like dowry matters (indirectly),he use to fight every single day, he use to drink every single day and torture.

are you working ? are you both live in together now? does your mother in law live with you ? is he providing for household expenses ? do you have any proof of them asking for dowry even indirectly ? does it drink at home are comes to home drunk ? what about your sexual life ? my advice depends on your answer to all these .

Dear Madam, If you are not comfortable then get issue a legal notice for divorce and get divorce with alimony. To strengthen your case you may file multiple cases against them and see that Divorce decree is obtained with alimony. Such torture will continue until and unless you start the litigation against them.
