Can husband file for divorce because of this.

12-Jan-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Hello, nI have been married for 3 years. I have never voiced out the insults and cruelty made against me by my husband or mother in law or sister inlaw because mine is love marriage and I thought if I fought with my inlaw family then my husband will not live happily with me. But recently their insults are turning into violence as my sister inlaws clenched my arms painfully during a family function. My husband also beat me once badly. Now I have decided to skip my father inlaw's death anniversary because it is in a village where I know nobody and I don't have any means to get out of the inlaws house if they keep insulting me. These insults causes me mental torture and I do not know how to fight against my inlaws. Is not attending father inlaw's death anniversary a ground for divorce? Also, can my husband file for divorce without informing or consulting me?

1. This cannot be a ground for divorce, as you can give any rational reason for avoiding the family gatherings/functions. 2. Verbal/Physical abuse is not meant be tolerated, you can voice out your limits even if it is love&arranged marriage. 3. Cogently try to comprehend your side issues to your husband, explain to him about the insults/harassment by your in-laws. Finally, only amicable methods will help you to solve the discrepancies between you and your husband. if you are willing to reconcile with your husband, try to open up your hardships.

yes. your husband can file divorce. the non attending the ceremony will not be a good ground for divorce. if you are really needs to quit from the family then you may file divorce case then proceed further.
