Can husband and wife live separately without getting divorce.

It is been 25years since my parents got married.My mother wish to live separetely.But my father is not allowing.Is it possible to live separately without getting divorce.

Yes it is possible to live seperately without getting divorce, whereas if separated for a long period is a ground for divorce and you have decide on other benefits of your father to be received like maintenance, share in property etc.,

you mother can stay separately without divorce although your father can file a case under section 9 of the hindu marriage act for restitution pf conjugal rights. Also mother can file a divorce petition before family court if required.
