Appeal against interim maintenance order

I have filed an appeal against interim maintenace order in high court and the advocate has given me a memo stating the sr no of appeal to be produced in lower court in the next hearing. My question- is the s.r no of appeal enough to be accepted by the judge in lower court? My high court advocate says that it ll take 10 days to get appeal number.
what the date of next hearing. if next hearing date will come after 20 days then appeal no will be get and during that the SR no is necessary. normally it will take considerable time to complete the process
