In a mutual consent divorce, alimony is not fixed by any strict formula. It is decided based on mutual settlement between husband and wife and the overall facts of the case. While calculating alimony, the Court generally considers factors such as the husband’s net monthly income, future earning capacity, standard of living during marriage, duration of marriage, age and health of both parties, financial dependency of wife, educational qualification, responsibility of children, liabilities/loans, movable and immovable properties, and conduct of parties

As you both are going for Mutual Divorce petition, the rights, liabilities and benefits of both parties should be protected in the arrangement. If their marriage involves a child then the rights of the child and obligations of you both are the absolute responsibility. 1. Fix a permanent alimony amount. 2. If joint ownership of anything exists finalise and separate it before divorce. 3. If there is child, for his education get a separate fund established.
