After filing a Divorce case, can wife put dowry case

Hi Sir/Madam, I have filed divorce case, 1st hearing not yet happened, we both are separated 1 year back, meanwhile my wife is filing dowry case on me & my family members. Incase arrest warrant issued, will I be arrested, will I get a time to get bail? How can I help myself & family members. I am working in Karnataka, parents in Andhra & wife is in Andhra. Please do suggest.

If you come to know that your wife has filed a 498-A at the jurisdictional police station. Immediately contact any lawyer any seek for Anticipatory bail until you get bail don't disclose your whereabouts to any body. Send some body police station and get the FIR copy do the needful. Engage any advocate he will take care of your case.

Hi,

You along with your parents may file petition seeking anticipatory bail, whereby you and your parents cannot be arrested by the police, however you may have to cooperate with the police by giving your statement in the dowry matter.

as you informed, that you have filed the divorce case. I hope now notice may be served on these person.

As you told, you are separated from last one year, therefore the question of harassment is not arising. Moreover you sought for decree of divorce.

There is chance that they may file. You can apply for anticipatory bail.
