Dear Sir, You may give statement that your wife already taken jewelry from you and there is no question of returning anything. In the meanwhile before approaching Police you may apply and get anticipatory bail since they have not complied issuance of notice to you etc.

Police have no authority Under any Law to demand return of such family gold items from one member of family to another. In your present ease you can ask the police proof of existence or purchase of such items.
