35 days of emotionally forced marriage

27-Mar-2026 (In Divorce Law)
I denied marriage 5 days before it happened and tried to run away from venue. I have recordings of conversations and flight ticket record. I have to get married because both the families were more concerned about their image. I tried to be a husband and had physical relationship twice but I have realized that I can not stay with her. What can I do? Can I file for annulment?

There is no annulment allowed or exists in India as the marriage is only 35 days old, you can convince your wife for mutual consent divorce, but if you are forced to stay together go to a counselor and explain how it is a recipe for bad marriage and unhealthy relationship as you don't want to be with her at all.

Annulment (nullity of marriage) is possible under the Hindu Marriage Act or Special Marriage Act on grounds like: Lack of valid consent (force, fraud, or undue influence). If the marriage was not consummated properly or other specific grounds. However, the fact that they had physical relations twice after marriage can weaken an annulment claim, because it may be seen as acceptance/ratification of the marriage.

Annulment is limited to specific grounds like fraud, coercion, impotence, unsoundness etc. Consummation may affect it. If marriage broke down, divorce may be proper remedy. Consult me with evidence as per the concerned provisions of law.

An annulment is highly unlikely here. Family pressure for social image does not constitute legal force. Furthermore, consummating the marriage legally ratifies it. File for divorce to end the marriage as per the concerned provisions of law
