No you will not get arrested. There is always the option of getting the same quashed Further an anticipatory bail may be availed in case you do suspect an arrest The same shall ensure that you can avail legal remedies without having to worry about legal consequences

You have a valid legal ground to file annulment since you were a minor at the time of marriage. The demand of 15 lakh and threats of false cases appear to be pressure tactics. Even if they try to file cases under 498A or DV, arrest is not automatic. With proper legal steps like anticipatory bail and cooperation, the risk of arrest can be controlled. You should act promptly, file the annulment and also make a preventive complaint regarding the threats and money demand. This will protect your position and reduce their pressure.

If you file for annulment as a minor, the marriage will be treated as voidable, and once annulled, Section 498A (cruelty by husband/relatives) cannot legally apply because there is no valid marriage. However, if the other side files false cases (498A, DV, dowry), you may face investigation, but immediate arrest is unlikely due to Supreme Court guidelines requiring police to follow safeguards before arrest. Under Section 12(1)(b) of the Hindu Marriage Act, a marriage can be annulled if the spouse was of unsound mind at the time of marriage, making them incapable of giving valid consent or of leading a normal married life. Once annulled, the marriage is treated as if it never legally existed.

As per the Judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, no immediate arrest can take place in Sec 498a IPC FIR and the police has to give you notice for questioning. You can not prevent filing of false cases against you but can defend them on merits. Annulment of marriage can be filed in your case. For further query feel free to connect. Thanks
