Sent abusive WhatsApp messages to some of the people I have known for

My niece has been diagnosed with schizophrenia . Some of the people in my social circle spread misinformation about her condition and gossips about her which had very bad consequences for her , in my opinion . I sent them some abusive WhatsApp messages along with the facts of matter in order to make them stop from spreading misinformation and such .nnCan I get in legal trouble for sending those abusive messages ?
