Lost money while trying to get job via backdoor

Gave money to someone who promised job via backdoor but neither returning money nor giving job.If I complain he said I'll be in trouble and will not get job in future.Is is true?What should I do?
If you have payment proof and evidence that he told you backside job and took money then file a cheating complaint on him , police I/O officers helping getting that money to you , approach nearby Police station file a complaint
