Is watching movies, anime and read manga online for free legal

08-Jun-2023 (In Cyber Crime Law)
Manga refers to Japanese style comics. So, some of the English movies are not available to buy in India anywhere, so I am going to watch those movies on websites that stream movies for free. Also almost all the manga and anime are also not available in India to buy, so I am going to watch and read them on websites that offer them for free. Legally, everything's fine here right?

That depends. So for example, it is not legal for the most of the cases. However, it entirely depends upon the the license (if any) and the right vested by the owner of IP to the website.
In either case, generally, the IP owners catch hold of the server which is violating the IP and not the user. So you may not expect a legal action. But be assured that such hoisting of websites is illegal without license from owners
