Insulting me in whatsApp group using abusive words

One lady insulted me and my family in whatsApp group by telling culprit and selfish family and spreading corona virus in the society. After that she kept on insulting me so while defense I said her mental/ gone mad. Initially I gave Police complaint after that she gave counter complaint saying I used abusive words to her. Need help I want apology letter from her and apologize in the group. Police started supporting her. And said I also need to give a apologize letter. Help me.
Firstly send a legal notice to the woman asking for apology and seek for damages if she fails to reply or seek apology lodge a defamation suit criminal and civil against her in jurisdiction court. Make notices to be sent from each individual of your family
