29-Aug-2023 (In Criminal Law)
My in laws entered forcefully at my home without my permission and took my spouse to their home on my spouse own will after beating us. They also filed complaints in pune local police station before departing to Delhi. We also made FIR against all family members who forcefully entered and beaten us and filed wrong complaints. It has exceeded 70 days now so is there specific no of days that my FIR filed against my spouse family will gets squashed automatically. I have asked police station to hold for any action against them I confirm if they really wants to file 498 a.

Hello Sir,
There is no such number of days where your FIR quashes. You must not hold on to your complaint as there is a strong possibility of them getting you booked under section 498A. So you must get proper evidence against your in laws. Witnesses must be independent and must not go hostile any time of the trials. For further information and suggestion I suggest you to get in touch.

once you have started a criminal proceeding it cannot stop on your consent or wish and there are no specific number of days for cancellation of FIR. After filing it the police have to take action if they feel necessary and prepare a report of it and submit it to the court. do you have a copy of your FIR ??? please consult your local lawyer along-with the copy of the FIR for further details

There is no AUTOMATIC quashing of FIR even if 70 days have passed.
The Accused persons have to file Petition in High Court for quashing of FIR.
Whenever the Accused will file such FIR, they will have to join you as party.

Without giving you chance to oppose the quashing, the High Court will never quash the FIR.

However, you will need to be very watchful and careful to prevent the quashing.
