What to do if someone stole my laptop from the repair shop

Hello, I had some issue with my laptop so I gave it to a laptop repair store... Which the store he doesn't own but works there in partnership and pays rent.Even the owner runs a lottery there.. So they keep their store open whenever they go for lunch or anywhere they go,by keeping the store in the hands of a Tailor and a Paan vala beside their store ... Unfortunately my laptop got stolen from the store.. So who is responsible for paying the price of my laptop. FIR has been registered by the guy who was supposed to be repairing my laptop.Police says now u cant blame the repair guy as FIR has been registered nor u can ask for money from him.. Please find me a solution for it. I am in a state where I feel guilty of giving that guy my laptop and because of his carelessness I lost my Laptop..

You have given your laptop for repair to someone who suppose to represent. And said laptop is stolen from his custody in this situation you can recover laptop or money from that person. You can file FIR against that person.

First try to amicably solve the issue by agreeing to some minimal amount for the loss from the repairing person. If he doesn't agree then send him a legal notice asking for him to compensate you or you would take legal action. If still he doesn't pay you then file a civil suit for claiming the damages.

Sir, when you had given your laptop to repair store. You would have been given a job card against your laptop. And the repair store is liable to compensate you, as the theft took place from the repair store and on his watch. Sir, if you require any further help, i would be happy to help you in person
