What to do if police is not recording FIR of my stolen laptop

25-Jun-2023 (In Criminal Law)
My laptop was stolen by a unknown person while I was away from home, I didn't lock the door properly so it helped that person to go through the door and cctv footage is available, police are rejecting to file an fir has it was my negligence. I agree with that but still a unknown person cannot come and take my property that's a criminal event right? What should I do now? laptop was given to me by my working company now they are required a copy of FIR so that they recover it some how, because of this my job is in trouble. All I need is copy of fir..please help me out what can I do?

Why did you tell that you didn't lock door properly and why didn't you lock.If police are not registering complaint filing FIR then file PCR at Magistrate court against that police and seek direction from the court to direct the jurisdictional police to take action against the thief and provide justice. You can also approach police commissioner office.

It’s just simple plz go directly to commissioner of police within whose your jurudication is there staying the proper reason as such how you have evidence for laptop of CCTV footage similarly take evidence of police who is not accepting your case for filing FIR and I am sure they will take proper action on police and laptop is yours and you can keep any where in your home ok

Hi...you ask them to register f.i.r. and tell them that it is your company laptop and registration of you laptop is very much necessary and if they are not registering you will go to his higher officer.
Thank you
