What is the time to file an FIR against a person who threaten to kill

A person in march 2019 told me that he is a govt employee n can put me behind bars and in may threaten to kill me,can i lodge an FIR now,i went to the police station but they gave me recieving only and told me we cant do anything, And if not what can i do as the person is in delhi and due to fear i am in kolkata,plz guide

I have perused the contents of your query and would advise you to file an application before the court of CMM seeking registration of FIR saying that police is not registering an FIR on your complaint.

Yes, the FIR can be registered now. We can file the same with higher authorities and if still the same is not registered, we can a file a petition in the Hon’ble Court under section 156(3) of the Code Of Criminal Procedure and get the FIR registered by the order of the court.
