I am facing repeated trespass, threats, property damage, and verbal abuse from a neighbour with a history of violent behaviour and questionable mental health, while police have taken no effective action despite evidence. The situation is ongoing and unsafe. What immediate legal steps can I take—such as filing a private complaint, seeking protection, or approaching the Magistrate—to ensure my family’s safety?

You can Move against the said person both civil and criminal ways you can file complaint before the police station and and if the police is not taking any action you can prefer complain before the higher authorities and also prefer private complaint before the concerned magistrate you can also move for an injunction against criminal trespass against the third person before the Munsif Court station over the matter

You could file a private complaint in the magistrate through an advocate. You may also file police protection petition to Highcourt with the help of an advocate. You may contact me for more details.

if the police does not take any action you can file a private complain before the nearest magistrate Court having jurisdiction . Ishwar legal notice to the neighbour for doing so and file a civil suit the nearest Civil Court

You may forward an email to the Superintendent of Police or Commissioner of Police, including all pertinent evidence such as photos and videos. Should there be no response or action, a private complaint can be filed with the appropriate magistrate.
