Hi, last week someone from transport department(enforcement branch) towed & seized my 16 year old car which was parked in front of my house in a "gali/road" of a gated society without informing anyone, they just posted a notice on my house wall. Does the roads of gated society in delhi also comes under public place from where they can just tow away old car without informing the owner? yes, you can file a writ in the nature of mandamus or certiorari and approach the Delhi High court for relief. The transport department along with private scrappers have made a business of it. the sooner you take action, the better it'll be.
