The finance manager who got my investment amount is not returning back

He is working as branch manager in a private financial Ltd. I knew him since 2017. He used to get amount as investment ranging from 2Lakhs - 4 Lakhs and he used to add up 10% of profits amount. He used to return my actual amount whenever I ask. Since 2017 till 2020 there was no problem in the give and take online transactions. From 2020 may I gave 5L and he started giving promising amount of profits and later again by June invested 2.5L more and 1L by December 2020 and 4L by feb 2021= 12.5L and till date the promising profits upto 14L he has to return. He guaranteed his repayment each times with his signes cheque mentioning my name on it without filling dates. I have his 4L , 7.5L, and 14L cheques with me. All of a sudden he stopped responding my calls. Absconding in his flat. Even tried to meet him at his flat. He is telling that he is unavailable through his flat manager and flat security. Now I want to take him to police station for trying to cheat me. I would like to take a lawyer.
