Someone stole my passbook. Can it be misused, and what actions do I need to take to prevent any harm? Is it safe to share the passbook front page, and can someone withdraw money with my passbook?

Sharing the front page of a bank passbook should be done with caution, as it may reveal sensitive information such as your name, account number, and branch details. While this page may not show your transaction history or current balance, it can still pose a risk if misused. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid sharing it unless absolutely necessary. If sharing is required for official or verification purposes it is recommended to mask or blur sensitive details to safeguard your financial privacy.

If just passbook has been stolen, then there is nothing to worry. With just a passbook, no one can steal your money. But, you should inform this matter to your Bank immediately and apply for issuing a new passbook. That's it!

Yes it can be misused so u have to give forst information to ur bank so tht they can take action against it and secondly u have to do a written complaint in police station so if in future something has been done then u have a proof of it that u have filled a complaint against it ..
