Sister and girlfriend of my ex is threatening me!

27-Feb-2026 (In Criminal Law)
There was a boy whom i used to date in the past..he was in a bad financial state, his father was also suffering from some health issue at that time and things got over in a bad note and he indulged in bad habits. Before things got over, he took some money from me due to some financial difficulties and promised me to return me in sometime! Now after 3+ yrs today his sister called me to return back my money and she sent me, but she and his gf started to threaten me over call & whatsapp what to do?

As per ur query 1. Money Aspect: If the entire amount has been returned, the financial dispute is closed. Preserve proof of repayment (bank statement / UPI record). Do not engage in further monetary discussion. 2. Threats & Harassment: Threatening calls or WhatsApp messages amount to criminal intimidation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (earlier Section 506 IPC). 3. Immediate Steps: • Save screenshots and call records. • Do not respond emotionally. • Send a formal legal notice warning them to cease harassment. • If threats continue, file a written police complaint with evidence. Legally, you are protected. The issue now is criminal intimidation, not a financial dispute.

1. Collect all the screenshots and call recordings or mails which portray their wrongful conduct. 2. Make a written complaint with clear timelines of incidents and be very specific about it. 3. Approach your local police station and hand over the complaint to them. They will give you an acknowledgement by signing on the Xerox of the complaint. 4. Take a picture of that complaint (Xerox) which was provided by the police and share it with those people. They might not trouble you anymore!
