I have filed an FIR against my sister in law who has stolen gold jewellery from my house.nNow, first hearing of this case is upcoming and.i.want to know whether I can hire a private lawyer to fight my case or I have to go ahead with the public prosecutor only?nPleased advice.

You have complete right to hire a private lawyer which is called as intervenor in legal language. It is not necessary to go with the Public Prosecutor. You can hire an advocate of your choice and file intervention application before the court
