A caveat is a document which safeguards the right of the proposed respondent and no adverse orders can be passed against him ex-parye until he is summoned and is heard. the validity of a caveat is 30 days after which it is to be renewed.

Dear Client,

Caveat is a simply a process that if at all you will challenge the FIR lodged against you for quashing the said FIR you have to serve the copy of the petition to the lawyer concerned.

filing of a caveat means the moment you will challenge the said FIR in the High Court seeking protection from the court, copy of the said writ petition will first have to be served on the said lawyer of your employer and he will get an opportunity to contest the same in the court.
