Quashing a long pending FIR for senior citizen

I am 71, facing a criminal case since 2018 in Mumbai. I was a customer at a bar during a police raid. FIR mainly against owner, but I am also named. Sections: IPC 294, 114, 34 and Maharashtra Prohibition Act 3, 8(1)(2)(4), 131(A). Trial pending 7 yrs, no progress. I need to visit my son in Canada. How can I close this case quickly—discharge or quashing under Sec 482 CrPC? Also, can I get travel permission? What is reasonable lawyer fee?

Well, I can get this case quashed by filing a Petition in Bombay High Court. If you go via Route of Discharge Petition, then, it may take longer depending upon how much similar cases are pending in that particular court.

You can file discharge application under section 239 bracket 245 CRPC depending on whether it's warrant or someone's case you can ask the trial to discharge you since no specific role is attributed to you you are just a customer not owner of the manager. Quashing petition can be filed under section 482 CRPC in High Court stating that you are only a customer no option act or active role proven delay of seven years without trial violates article 27 right to speedy trial the case is abuse of process of law high courts have caused many similar cases where customers were unnecessarily dragged so it is okay if you file it for quashing petition and as you said that your son is in Canada and you want to visit so normally your passport is deposited in court and if you can apply for a temporarily release permission to travel abroad the court usually ask for a reason to travel which you can say for a visit to our son or a medical or a family explain the exact duration of a travel give the undertaking to return or local short or security if you want can deposit.

Customers at dance bar are not liable to prosecution, there are judgements on this, you can opt for quashing of FIR wherein, your name will be deleted, further you can also move for discharge application if the charges aren't framed in the trial court
