Process to file a defamation case in Gwalior

My female neighbour (my maasi) has submitted a false complaint that my family members, physically assaulted her and threatened to kill her, and her kids have recorded this whole event. Police is not accepting her FIR request because of NO evidence as this never happened. Instead, we have registered an NCR against her already (IPC 323, 504). Now, she has published this LIE in a newspaper. Can I file a defamation suit against her to ruining my reputation and demand compensation for 50 lakhs ?
