Prank done by one of my friend

One of my friend got the covid test done recently. He was in contact with me. His report was actually negative. He edited the report received through message and made the report positive and sent the screenshot. Then later he confessed that it was a prank done by him. Isn't this incorrect legally? what should I do?

It is legally incorrect. You may lodge complaint. If such manipulation brings you any psysical or financil or social damage then you can get issuse legal notice and clame huge compensation from him.

Forgery of an RT-PCR test is punishable under IPC and under Disaster Management Acts. In this case IPC Sections 419 (punishment for cheating by personation), Section 415 (Cheating), Section 465 (Punishment for Forgery) Section 471 (using forged as genuine), and Section 336(Act endangering life or personal safety of others). These section are imposed if a person try to do forgery.
