Police have no right to impose a lathi charge under any circumstances. You are required to put forth a complaint in court. Also, you are at the liberty to bring PIL before the high court to set up rules against such incidents. Please feel free to reach out for further assistance

Police officer can’t beat anyone and can’t do lathicharge until orders from superiors. During lockdown they can only fine or file a case u/s 188 ipc, which itself is a bailable. If any police officer beats u or MI’s-uses his power than u can call 100 number or file complaint against him at concerned police station or higher authorities

The duty of Police is to maintain Law and Order and under no circumstances anyone is above the law . If you are the victim of atrocities done by Police you have all the rights to sue them , you can lodge FIR against them , I have seen the so many cases where the Police arrest police and put the behind the bar
