23-Nov-2025 (In Criminal Law)
Hello Sir, I need guidance regarding my Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). A few years ago, an FIR was registered against me at, Amritsar. The case has already been disposed by the court with the result “Contested Dismissed.” Now I am applying for an overseas PCC, and I want to know: 1. Will this disposed case appear on my PCC? 2. If it appears, will it show only as “Disposed / Dismissed,” or will it be considered adverse? 3. Is it possible that the case does not show on PCC aft

Dear Client, your disposed ‘Contested Dismissed’ FIR from Amritsar will likely appear on the PCC as ‘disposed/dismissed’ (non-adverse), but apply via Passport Seva with court order copy for verification. It won’t block visas if disclosed transparently. Share FIR/court details for affidavit drafting.

there is no automatic way that police would have updated their record despite the fact that the police always knows if a person is convicted or acquitted as courts usually share this info with police but for safe side you can get a certified copy received at police station or keep one with you for further clarifications
