My riend took money for business 5 lakhs but i dint get back

My self Kavitha from Bangalore.
in 2016 Sep my friend took money of 5 Lakhs for Qnwt business.
I dint get my money back,
Can i raise a complaint, FIR how to go about it
1. Have you gotten other party signed on any agreement or p-note? ... etc.,
2. Did you get any cheque for the security?.
3. You would need any of the above said document to initiate police complaint. I suggest you to approach a lawyer from your locality.

Yes, you can lodge a complaint with police but they make a big issue out of it. Better you file a civil suit for recovery of said amount along with interest. For either options stated above you need to produce standard oral and documentary evidence so that you win the case.

Since it is civil dispute FIR can not be registered. Do you have anything as security? Insist upon your friend to give a cheque. If such cheque bounces the file a criminal case in Magistrate Court and recover the money.

you can file a cheating complaint but police in our country play double game and it is up to you to decide how far you can trust them. a lit depends on what documents and proof you have against her. you can go to court within limitation period.
