My relative denying the sent WhatsApp message

10-Dec-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I sent a WhatsApp message to one relative in feb 2020 asking for his requirement of money, he had earlier called me to borrow. Now he is denying having received some cash and says my message is edited. How to authenticate the sent WhatsApp message & tell every one that he is lying. I am not concerned with money. How to approach court of law and expose him. I have my original iPhone and message thread intact. Pl guide.

If you had given him money in cash then it is considered as hand loan. If he has taken it then he has the liability to return the said amount to you. If he is denying and you have proof of related chats in your iPhone then you may first send him a legal notice and then file a complaint.

Well, if you want to recover your money, you have to file a Civil Suit for Money Recovery. Your WhatsApp Chat will be considered as relevant Evidence under IT Act, 2000. It is quite important to keep your Mobile Handset with you.
