Is lying to police over call a crime ?

So some police called me and asked some questions i answerd all of them correctly just i said my name wrong as i was scared am i punishable the conversation was over phone so i could not even determine if it was a real police
Ist of all u have to make inquiry&locate whether calling person was a real police or not then definite opinion may be given. For further enquiry call me . And I need to check your files then any action may be taken .
