Is it necessary to disclose name for registering a case of cheating

Section 228 A of the Indian Penal Code lays down the provisions barring the disclosure of identity of the victim of certain offences.

It say that:

“Whoever prints or publishes the name or any matter which may make known the identity of any person against whom an offence under section 376 (rape), section 376A (rape leading to death or making victim go into a permanent vegetative state), section 376B (sexual intercourse by husband upon his wife during separation) , section 376C (sexual intercourse by person in authority) or section 376D (gang rape) is alleged or found to have been committed (hereafter in this section referred to as the victim) shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years and shall also be liable to fine.”

It is the duty of the investigating officer and the authorities not to adduce your name in public but for preferring a complaint you had to give your entire details with a mandate that your name should not believe disclosed and this is applicable only when you are a victim physically

You can file a complaint and register a fir at police station. Let the police conduct investigation and you can ask the police to hide your name to public since it affect you, the aggrieved. Anyhow such intention of the Accused should be proved

Hi,

In this case, it is necessary to disclose your name in the criminal complaint and statement that you need to file before the police or court. But no one can reveal your name in public in such a case as it is an offence and illegal.

Question: Cheated physically and mentally under the false promise of marriage. If am registering a case , can I hide my name from public

You will get Protection from Law to hide your identity from Public ,But in case your Presence is must but your identity will be hidden from public
