The legal terminology is ‘defamation’. As you have written that you said something which is true, if it’s true then it cannot be considered as defamatory content. But to advise you proper defence against defamatory it is necessary to see the contents you posted about the other person.

Well, despite it was a Private Group Chat, the people before whom you have badmouthed about someone, such someone can still file a Defamation Case against you, if whatever you said about that person in Private Group Chat was not true and it was meant to malign his or her character, insult him or her.

I want to assure you that discussing someone in a private group chat, even negatively, is generally not illegal as long as it does not involve defamation, threats, or harassment. In your case, since the statement was true, it would not typically qualify as defamation, which requires a false statement that harms someone's reputation. However, the more pressing concern is the threat of harm you are facing. Threats of violence are illegal and should not be taken lightly. You have the right to feel safe, and I strongly recommend documenting the threats and reporting them to the appropriate authorities or platform moderators. While free speech allows private discussions, it's important to be mindful of potential consequences if statements are shared beyond the intended audience. If you need further legal protection or advice, consulting a lawyer would be a wise step. Your safety is the priority, and legal remedies are available to address threats against you.
