After you have filed a complaint, the same should be converted into FIR. then the Charge sheet is to be prepared in 90 days ideally. It may, however, take more time. You should do follow up personally.

Dear Querist

Chargesheet is to be prepared within 90 days of the FIR, so to say. I am not sure if any site helps you to track a complaint online. It seem unlikely to me though. It is advised that you follow up a complaint regularly. In case you find it confusing to understand the procedure, then you may consult a lawyer for guidance & support.
Police will file the charge sheet in the concerned court looking after your area. what role is attributed to you can only be clear once the charge sheet is prepared and file din the court.

The only way of following up investigation/progress of a complaint at a police station is by tracking the same with the concerned Investigating Officer marked to your complaint. There is no provision to do so online. Generally, there is no fixed time period within which a charge sheet is supposed to be filed. A charge sheet is essentially a report detailing the entire investigation undertaken by the Investigating Officer pursuant to a complaint and the offences, which in his opinion are made out against the accused persons during investigation. Where in the opinion of the Investigating Officer, no offence is made out from the investigation, the Investigating officer then files a closure report instead of the Charge Sheet.

The role of the complainant in the entire procedure is limited to aiding the investigating officer in his investigation. If the complainant is of the view that the investigation in his matter is not being conducted properly or is taking unreasonably long or is insufficient, the complainant may file appropriate applications before the concerned magistrate to either monitor the investigation or to order further investigation in case the investigation fails to cater to any aspect. Such applications may also serve the purpose of tracking the progress of complaints by mandating the concerned Investigating officer to appear before a magistrate at regular intervals and submitting his report on the subject.

Please note that the present response/opinion/reply is in view of the limited facts put forth by you and shall not be deemed to absolute/exhaustive and is only preliminary in nature. Consultation Advised.
