I was threatened to be killed by a relative of my wife

My wife has left me for sometime now and when I called her mother, her brother's wife said all the abusive words and said will send goons to kill me at my home. Kindly give me advice if police will take this matter seriously, visit her home immediately or summon her and sort this out. Also if it's taken to court, approx how long it will take for me to get justice.
you can file an official complaint against your wife's relatives for threatening to kill you and abuse, if things are more severe FIR will be filed, and the police will deal with them, if this thing or your matrimonial issue goes to court it depends on alot of factors, kindly contact me for further information
