You must have some proof that you have sold your bike to your society's guard son. Just keep them safe and show it to the police officials when you are called through the notice under section 91 CrPC. The police will draft a kalandra in which all the evidence is present. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

Dear Client In case an FIR has been registered in the above you need to join the investigation, and inform the court regarding the above transfer of ownership. Feel free to get in touch to discuss further. Regards, Adv. Abhinav Sharma

If your vehicle is involved in the commission of a crime, there can be several legal ramifications depending on the nature and severity of the offense. you can be held criminally liable for the crime. however, you must have the evidence to prove that you were not involved in the crime if you want to escape criminal liability.

You would have a sell letter in proof. Produce it to police and make arrangements to get RC transferred immediately. However, the law is very clear on it and that is till RC is not transferred its your responsibility be it theft or accident claims. People often think that there role has ended with mere selling the vehicle. Now you have learnt the lesson hard way. Hope others too learn their lesson before it's too late.

if your RC has not been transferred then you will have to bear the problem...As a prudent citizen you should have done that the first thing once you have sold your bike. Any non transfer of RC will make you the authorised owner and any crime done will be in your name only
