I got cheated by man I met on matrimony site

Hi, I need legal advice regarding a betrayal on a matrimonial website. I connected with a man, we were intimate with the intention of marriage, but he ghosted me after. Feeling hurt and betrayed, Can I file a police complaint?

Yes, you have been cheated by him on the pretext of marriage and therefore he has prima facie committed an offence. If you were physically involved then section 376 read with section 420 of IPC may be invoked against him. You just need to meticulously draft a complaint preferably under the guidance of a counsel so that ingredients of offence is made out.
