In a Criminal case, you cannot hire your own Private Lawyer to run the trial. You have to rely upon him, i.e, a Public Prosecutor. However, to figure out, whether the Public Prosecutor is working properly in a non corrupt manner or not, just to observe him and report you about his activities, you can hire a Private Lawyer.

You always have the right to file an intervention application in the court if you feel that the public prosecutor is not doing justice with your case. The Court gives you the right to hire a private advocate that will represent you.
