slaping is an incident which falls under the criminal activity. it depends on you if you wish to pursue the case against the person or try to forget it. As a legal counsel I will suggest you to file a case or atleast send a legal notice so that the person understands the gravity of the matter otherwise moving on is for the people who are weak enough not planning to take any atep

In law, a slap is not a “small” thing. It amounts to a criminal offence (simple hurt/assault), even if no serious injury is caused. That said, whether to pursue it legally or let it go depends on context, evidence, and consequences rather than ego or impulse. If the slap was public, humiliating, repeated, or part of a larger pattern of abuse, it is generally advisable to take legal action. Filing a complaint creates a formal record, deters future misconduct, and sends a clear message that physical violence is unacceptable. This is especially important if the person is likely to repeat such behaviour or holds power over you (workplace, family disputes, neighbours, etc.). If the incident was isolated, impulsive, and immediately regretted, and you are confident it will not recur, some people choose to resolve it through apology or mediation. The law allows compounding/settlement in minor assault cases, so even after filing a complaint, matters can often be closed amicably. From a practical standpoint, before deciding, consider: • Do you have witnesses, CCTV, or medical evidence? • Is the other person threatening or unrepentant? • Will silence embolden them? • Will litigation add more stress than closure?

A slap amounts to assault/criminal force under IPC. You may file a police complaint and pursue legal action. However, if it is minor and isolated, you may also opt for compromise depending on facts and impact.

Hi there, the course of action depends on the magnitude of slap, if the slap was hard/soft, was it in public/closed space, it had hint of misogynist/insulting intent, etc. If slap raises a grave concern with respect to your dignity and respect then you can definitely pursue it legally. However, it's advisable to contact me and provide more details to assist you better.
