Fined for entering a restricted area

I went to a place called Broken Bridge in Chennai. It was 6am and there was no one there. After a few minutes a police came and told it was a restricted area. He manhandled me, took my phone and asked to collect from nearest police station. I was fined 2000 for this and didn't receive any receipt for that. I had no other option because I was threatened to pay it. What was the right way to handle that situation?

Were you provided receipt for the fine. Indian police in 90% of the cases only manhandle people. If you are socially active selfless individual and if you wish the same should not happen to others, you may write a complaint to the higher authorities and even to vigilance and human rights
