my family members are accused in false FIR without no clear evidence under section 108 and even after 4 months and 20 days charge sheet is not filed but every time new family member is being threatened to be adding his name in the charge sheet. Now, all accused are on granted bail. what to do the next? when will the charge sheet filed? what is the max time limit for filing charge sheet? what maximum damage will happen at the time of charge sheet?
Police has to file Chargesheet within 90 Days of FIR Registration in case of Non Bailable and Cognizable Offences under the concerned provisions of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, otherwise within 60 Days of FIR Registration, in case of Bailable and Non Cognizable Offences...

Well, the Police has to file Chargesheet within 60 Days in case of Non Cognizable Offences and in case of Cognizable Offences, Police has to file the Chargesheet within 90 Days. However, there is no compulsion as such, if Police does not complete its investigation within such 60 or 90 Days, it can request Hon'ble Court to extend the timeline to complete investigation, which is usually granted.
