False case filed under IPC 376

15-Jun-2023 (In Criminal Law)
My friend had a girl friend in the past, he was in a serious relationship to get married. She has divorced her husband before my friend met her. He helped her financially as well, but from past one year he stopped being in touch with her as he got to know that she is having affairs elsewhere too. He told her openly about the same and distanced her. My friend in an unmarried person. Now she is threatening by saying she will file a rape case against her and went to police station as well. Police are showing inclination towards her being a female and trying to file false sections against him. What sort of legal possibilities a man can have to protect himself from these false cases. We are 100% sure this case will not have any value because nothing can be proved. But the pain he needs to undergo in the initial stage is something we are worried about. I am curious to know why police is also encouraging such. Please share us your valuable advice at the earliest.

According to this, with consent of the woman relationship was not illegal. but to threat someone woman may file complaint . this issue better u may go for getting Anticipatory bail to protect and not to arrest in her complaint in appropriate court. after that file petition to squash the FIR .
